The Tradition Continues-Pumpkin Pacer 2015

I was thrown for a loop!  A Starbucks stop before we left for Deer Park was not on the schedule.  We had to drive to Starbucks even though we were parked in this parking lot not far away.  In all fairness Sheila was trying to save her injured foot by walking less.

Yep!  We stopped.  Everyone was happy!

 And it's raining.  Really raining!
Always so good to see Dominic except for one thing.  He always wears his dumb Giants hat.  Being that I cannot be seen near a Giants hat I covered up the logo.
Here we are ready for the rain and a 5K.  Sheila, Tori, Bonnie, Michelle, and Jackie!
Always have to get a picture with Frank!
Dominic and the clan as he calls us!
We weren't the only ones doing this 5K in the rain. It is a tradition for us so we have to do it.  I did mention an alternate route but we didn't take one.
Tori didn't want me to take a picture of her taking her pants off.  I did anyway.  She had pants underneath!
 There she is!
So, we got there early as usual but were not going to stand in the rain so we sat in the car and waited.
We found Kat! Always full of sunshine!
Getting closer to the start time!
Yes, it says start but it is not where we started at all.
 This gets the creepy award.
 Lots of umbrellas!

 Nice decorations!
This is a patio umbrella.  He carried it the whole way.  They sell lighter ones in the stores for sure.  I should have told him!
 Fall pictures!

 Mile one complete!

 Mile 2 complete!
This house seemed a bit creepy even without the decorations.  Perfect Halloween house.

This is mile 3!  The pumpkin didn't get in the picture.  Trust me, we are finished and off to lunch!

 Great sign!  I like it!
This is all the chow.  Another Pumpkin Pacer in the books.  I think this one is the first one in the rain.  We have had a couple that have been really cold.  No snow yet but we will eventually.  Until next year!

Layne and Lucy Fun with Birthday Celebrations

Saturday started with Lucy's soccer game.  I went off to Greenbluff afterwards and the Lathrops headed home.  Kristin brought Layne and Lucy over Saturday evening to spend the night.
Layne is learning to play the flute.  She has already got it!
 Writing some notes down.

We went out to dinner at Chilis!

I taught Layne and Mike a different version of tic tac toe!  You can be X or O on every turn.  Makes it lots harder.
 Yummy!

Off to the Chinese Lantern Festival.  It was beautiful and very crowded.

Ever since I learned about the Terra Cotta Warriors I have been fascinated by them.  I would love to go see them in real life.  Amazing!
 This was my favorite part.

 Cuteness!

 Double cuteness.

  This is a Chinese wedding.

We didn't really go through all the Lantern Festival.  It was really crowded and we were really tired.  We had to get up in the morning for church.
Sunday we celebrated Mike's 63rd birthday and Kristin's 38th birthday.  Enchiladas and whipped cream banana cake.  We won't be able to do that with the candles again next year.

 Birthday kids!

Not sure Layne liked the cake.  She made mash out of it.
Yes, he got underwear that say "Full of Bull."  He has already worn them.
It is always a good time with the Lathrop crew.  The girls are growing up fast!
