My Life Is Good Because God is So Good! Snowshoeing!

Mike got me snowshoes for Christmas two years ago (2017).  I tested them out on Christmas in the backyard.  We went skiing on the day after Christmas and I tore my ACL on my left leg.   I had just had a knee replacement on my right knee 2 years before (2015).  That was very unfortunate! Skiing and snowshoeing ended for the season. I went back to skiing last year (2018) but never used my snowshoes.  We took our maiden voyage on our snowshoes this day.  Well, Mike had used his once.  We got some advice on where beginners should go and ended up on the Mt. Kit Carson Loop up near Mt. Spokane.  It was so much fun! I laughed a lot out of pure joy.  It was so great to be surrounded by God.  That is what it felt like.  It was great exercise too.
Here he goes carrying our snacks for the day in a backpack!

Wow oh wow!  Mike said he wanted to take a short cut and someone said, "This trail isn't a short cut." Then we saw some familiar faces. Dave and Marsha.  Mike works with Dave!  We talked for a while and they told us how to come back from the hut using the trail they were on.
I really couldn't take enough pictures.  What stopped me?  Cold hands!  It was so beautiful.  A perfect day for this adventure.  It was cold.  About 16 degrees I think but we were moving so we weren't cold at all.

A favorite thing to do.  Go off the trail in the deep, deep snow. Fortunately, we didn't have to travel in the deep snow the whole time.

We have almost reached our destination.  It was a hut that volunteers constructed.  We had to trek about a mile and a half to get there.  It was a gradual uphill climb.
Mike had my camera and decided to take pictures of someone we didn't know.  Fun!
Thank you God for this day!!!!!

 We have arrived!!!

 Snowshoes on the deck!
Mike did some wandering!
Wood for the stove inside. So cool.  I loved this!
Everyone that visited the hut added fire to the wood stove to keep it going.

Snack time for both of us!
Time to travel the trail back to the car!

Maneuvering down the steps with snowshoes on was a bit of a challenge!

 He did it!
A little video I took while I was snowshoeing!!!  I needed to document this because it was a first for us. Click the video to watch.

Deep, deep snow! Click the video to watch!

We are done!  I had such a great time snowshoeing!  I can't wait to get out in the snow and do it again.  Winter is my favorite season for sure.  There is just something about the peacefulness and beauty of the snow.  It's fun to play in too.
HMMM!  Was he really this tired or was he acting for the camera?

Wow, what a sunset we were blessed with on the way home.  Thank you Lord for your goodness, for your creation and for loving us unconditionally.  Thank you for a beautiful day together!!!
