The State Cross Country Meet for Layne, the senior!

When you go to state you get to march down the hallway with the drummers following behind and the students cheering for you.  What a great experience for Layne.  Click on the link below to watch the parade.

Layne arrived on Friday with the coach and a couple of teammates that came to cheer her on!

The start line was starting to buzz!  Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of Layne as she ran up this hill.  I didn't get pictures of anybody because I was bumped by someone that squeezed in right in front of me.  Just because I didn't get pictures doesn't mean it didn't happen.  Haha!
I had to get a picture of all the parents and supporters running off to the next viewing place after the start. It is like a herd of spectators all going in one direction.
I found a spot to view.  Here she is!

You can see how all the spectators line up to watch.

One loop done!

Now the finish.  From my view Layne passed two runners on the last push to the finish line.

And she is done!  I can't even imagine the difficulty of cross country running.  We are all so proud of Layne and how hard she works to achieve here goals.

And the thumbs up picture!
This picture is so, so wonderful.  All the girls from the district got together for a picture after the race.  Different schools but the same district!  Love this!

The support system from Deer Park High School! So great that these girls came to support Layne.
And here she is! # 8 out of 154 runners.

I couldn't decide what picture to post so I posted a few.  I did have to wait for the photographer to get out of the way for the best pictures.

Here are your biggest fans Layne!  We are all so proud of you and love you!  Wherever life takes you we will be there to support you unconditionally!

Districts in Chewelah, Layne the Senior

Our last trip to Chewelah to watch Layne in Districts. Why?  She is a senior and will have new adventures next year.  It was a beautiful day and a great setting!
Grandpa!!!
Look at this!  Beautiful!
The girls lined up ready to warm up!

Then we waited and waited some more.  The scoop we got was that there was some problem at the finish line.
So more warm up!

Now they are off!

Number 11, there she is!
The look of determination.

Layne is in the yellow, as usual, and is in the pack of girls in the front of the race!

These 4 girls separated from the pack.

Another loop around!
And the finish. As usual Layne ran hard and it earned her 3rd place in the race.  I can't even imagine how challenging running cross country is.
Every course is different. Some harder than others from what I have heard.  Dirt, sand, rocks and hills!
Layne is almost done!
The finish line has been crossed!
Layne's determination and hard work is impressive!  We just love her and love watching her running.  She is pretty special.  Off to state now!
