Yellowrock Campground, Montana July 2023

Two years, it had been two years since with took our travel trailer on vacation.  Why?  My back surgery.  No twisting or bending for 6 months.  Here we go, finally free to enjoy the great outdoors. The cook is at work.
We quickly learned that there were a lot of square dancers camped at Yellowrock.  It is the place to be to square dance.
We have started bringing our dogs on vacation with us.  It costs a lot to board them.  This was a hot vacation so they weren't totally content.  We like having them with us.
The set up!  The first day of unpacking was challenging in the heat but we did it.  Whew!

Pancakes for breakfast!  So good!  Once you get settled camping is great.
The master chef!
One of our chores was to take the dogs for a walk so they could relive themselves.  It was a great area for a walk!  It was hot.  I said that already.
We took the dogs down to Lolo Creek which runs along the campground.

Nice natural arch!

It's a short walk to the water and we are almost there.

Exploring.

Sammie walked right in the water.
She took drink from the creek.  Murphy would have nothing to do with the creek.

Beautiful spot to camp for sure.
We met some wonderful people at the campground.  We shared our faith and they shared theirs. Greg and Bosha camped right across from us.  We talked to them a lot.  Mike shared Dutch Sheets, Flashpoint and more with Greg.  Great neighbors.  Mike also talked with Eddie, a worker at the campground. We met Jane who sold everything and traveled in her trailer with her dogs, Jennifer from Texas and Mimi from Louisiana.  I had a really long conversation with Mimi.  Mimi was also traveling by herself with her dog. Mimi shared where faith journey with me and I did the same.  All these people were Christians in different places in their walk with God, like we all are.  We were blessed by the relationships we made even if they were only for a short time.

It was a cooler day and a campfire seemed appropriate.  You have to have a campfire when camping if possible.

Murphy was done!  He decided inside the trailer was a better place to be.
Mike at work!
Success.

Greg and Bosha came to join us for the campfire.  Greg brought his guitar.  I played it a bit and so did he. We had a sing along with Greg.
Bosha is Polish and speaks the language fluently. I am Polish too.  She asked if I spoke Polish.  Nope.
This was Greg and Bosha's last night.  We had made some great friends and it was sad to see them go. We said goodbye in the morning and Mike got some words from God to share with them.  Greg had tears in his eyes.  Too bad they live on the other side of the country.
Just a little walk to view the creek with Murphy.

We brought kayaks.  It took us a little over an hour to get to Lake Como.  We had no idea where to put the kayaks in and the first place was not good. Hard to haul them to the water and worse getting them back to the car.  Luckily, we saw a ranger.  She told us to go back down to the first parking lot.  There was a flat beach there.  The kayaking adventure saved.
Beautiful Lake bordered by the Bitterroot Mountains.

Murphy likes to jumps out of the kayak but he wouldn't touch the water at Lolo Creek.  Mike tied him in.  Good thinking.

You can't get out Murphy.

I dipped Sammie in the water a couple of times so she wouldn't get too hot.

Time to head back to the beach.  Our dogs were pretty much done with vacation at this point.  They weren't eating normally and lacked energy.
Things are a little out of order but it I just left the pictures like that.  Some pictures are from my camera and the lake pictures are from my phone so they don't load in order.  No motivation to take the time to change them.  You get the idea.

Before our campfire Greg and Bosha invited us to join them for dinner.  We just headed down the road a few miles to the Hayloft Diner.  The doors.

Gotta love Montana!
The decor was totally Montana.

We had a great dinner with our new friends.  I know God lead us to all the people we met.  He used us to share his love to others and we were blessed in the process.  We had one more day to spend relaxing in God's glorious creation.  We did just that.  Relaxed around the campsite.  It was a really good vacation.

For your viewing pleasure.  Cold water and Mike took the plunge.
