Family, They Say it's Your Birthday

Layne's coming back for the weekend, her birthday weekend.  She is heading straight to Bead Lake.  We did too!  We headed to the lake on Friday. Justin, Kristin, Layne and Lucy are a busy bunch.  It was so good to spend time with them.

Jimmy, Layne's boyfriend came along.  Layne and Jimmy met at college and they both had summer jobs at Glacier National Park. Lucy was the process of joining Layne and Jimmy for a picture.
Lucy made it, pineapple and all.
Lucy!
Relaxing!
More relaxing.
Two giant dogs appeared later in the day with one of the cousins. This dog cracked me up. He would sit in the water and just look.  Julie, Kristin's mother in law, said he was trying to catch the minnows.

Not a water dog here.

The birthday girl again!
Mike and I didn't go on the boat ride.  Not sure why, we just didn't. We were waiting for dinner.  Dinner didn't come until the boat and its occupants got back.
Off they go!
Dinner was served.  Thanks Kristin and Justin.  Mike's salad was gobbled up.
Saying our goodbyes.  Layne and Lucy were sitting in the other boat that was there.  The goggles Lucy is wearing were not for us.  She had them on before we came to say goodbye.  Character.
We gave Layne her birthday gift early.  Her celebration would be the next day.  She turned 19 years old.

Goodbye to Bead Lake and thank you to Jeff and Julie for having us to this beautiful place.

Gleason Visit Summer 2024

Starting off with the Espy Awards.  Steve got the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.  We watched on TV.  Rivers took the stage with Steve.
Steve back in the day wearing his white suit, Rivers sporting his.

Rivers initiated a group hug!
The Gleason's property is amazing.  Such a beautiful setting.
Always games and competition.  Darts.
Then there is Chef Gleason!  Mike loves to cook for people.  He is good at it for sure.
Bo and Steve.
Jackie/Gray selfie.
Father and son!
Landry joins Rivers at the river every year.  They are sharpening tools to chop weeds.
The new addition to the house on the river.  A wave runner.  Mike is holding on while Rivers prepares for the ride.
Buckle up!
Off they go!

We took the traditional boat ride. We headed to a swimming hole.  I was picturing a nice beach where we would pull the boat to the shore and get out to swim.
Gray was protecting herself with sunscreen. Turned out that we stopped in the middle of the river at a very still spot and the kids jumped off the boat doing flips to get in the water and swim. Mike and I used the stairs.
Father and son!

Group hug!
The front of the house.  The garage is on the far left.

Glory to God in the highest!
The future gymnast Gray.

Relaxing, beautiful and special time with Steve, Michel, Rivers, Gray and Steve's caregivers.
