Our mission on Sat. was to go see the museum that was created after JFK was assassinated. The museum was sold out but we were able to still see the area. As it turned out I was glad that we didn't go inside the Book Depository. It was very eerie and sad seeing this place in real life. I was only in 5th grade when this happened. I knew how awful it was for our country. I remember exactly where I was when I found out. The pain and memories came flooding back and it was hard to see the place that JFK was killed.
This is the Book Depository and the 6th floor window. This is the location where the shots were fired. It is the top window you see and every thing has been left just the same. The X's mark exactly where in the street JFK was shot.
A street perspective. The X is between the two cars. I kept thinking why are cars driving over this spot. That is not OK but of course it is OK. It didn't seem like just an X in the road to me.
Mark and the boys.
This is a different view of the sixth floor window. It is the second window from the top on the corner. This building is no longer called the Book Depository.
You can see how I felt by this picture. I just felt very uncomfortable.
The other spot where some say shots were fired.
Heading to see the John F. Kennedy Memorial!
Ok, on a lighter note. There is one in every crowd and Katie is ours. Water? A fountain? You could go around it by why? There she goes in Beast Mode right through it!
I got all wet!!! Really Katie?
OK off to the jousting match and a great dinner! These boys are ready!
We are too cool for words! Right?
I want my picture in front of a suit of armor!
Before
After
Picture with the King. I am not sure what he is the king of.
Not to miss an opportunity to get my picture taken with a king I joined in even though I don't really think he is a real king. It looks good though doesn't it?
This gentleman has a falcon. He was telling us all about this bird of prey.
Yes, we took a tour of a torture chamber. I couldn't even add some of the pictures I took. Awful that these were used. Just one picture!
Let the fun begin! Dinner and jousting.
Love this picture. I did not get one good picture of the white horses. I am so glad Keri did! Her camera and skills are just a tad better than mine!
We cheered for the RED KNIGHT. Here he is!
Here is the King of Something starting the festivities.
Keri got a great picture of the falcon and his trainer!
The bad guy! Trying to make a deal with the King of Something for the king's daughter's hand in marriage for his leader!
No way that is happening!
Our Red Knight didn't win his battle!
You can tell this is my green picture. Just wanted to show the bad guy got it in the end.
The dinner was fabulous and we got to eat everything with our fingers like we were kids. Thanks to Keri and Mark for this treat!
