The Big Day has Finally Arrived, Pre Parade Journey 11-24-2022

I raised smart girls.  Keri had the idea to get 5 gallon buckets before the parade.  We could carry things in them and sit on them while we waited for the parade to start.  We weren't far from where we we going to watch the parade, about 4 blocks.  It was a chilly morning and still dark when we got to our viewing place.  We were there about 3 + hours before the big event.
A light up hat was a must!
We had a great spot to watch the parade.  We were about 2 blocks from the start.  We met some great people and had lots to talk about as we waited and waited. Keri, Katie and I were not the first people at this location but almost we were almost the first ones there.  Some young dads were in front of us in chairs.  They were saving the spot for their families that were coming later.  Each family had 3 small children coming with their wives.
Trivia has never been a strength of mine.  After I lost the first two games I thought it was a good idea for me to read the questions.
We could see the first balloon down the street.
Bands marching and headed to the start.

As the parade starts these motorcycle police guide the way.

A cameraman way up high.

One of our new friends.
A little news interview for another new friend.

The crowd around us is growing.

Katie and Keri called all of us the Corner Krewe!  We had a great time with these people.  They made the time go so much faster while we waited for the parade to start.  Three of the guys were from Mexico City.

This kept us warm.  Hot chocolate.  We each had our own thermos full! Someone had an additional beverage to add to the hot chocolate.

Just can't leave Kristin out.
The sun is starting to shine and it is almost time!
