Blast off. Here Lucy Goes to High School.

Lucy taking her final walk as an 8th grader!
I debated which camera lens to use.  I needed one in-between my small and medium lens.  I chose the small.
I don't think Lucy was doing this intentionally to avoid pictures.  Maybe?
Ready to go!!!!
8th graders!
The first part of this ceremony was giving 4th quarter awards.  Now it's go time to receive a certificate of completion.

Lucy!

I missed the hand shake.

This is Lucy's friend.
Now ASB awards.
Lucy was vice president of her 8th grade class.  Next year she will be the president of her 9th grade class.  Pretty impressive for sure.

I got this handshake.

Here they are, the ASB officers.

And off they go to another chapter of their lives.  Lucy is strong and courageous.  She will thrive in high school.  We will be there cheering you on Lucy!!!!!!!!!!
Well, there were a lot of these pictures taken. I didn't post them all but probably more than I needed too.  It is important to capture the moment. It's not going to happen again.

The star of the show.  Lucy!
Kristin and Lucy are good at making these faces.  I wonder if there is some sort of completion for this?

More!
Photo bomb!
So cute.  Off to the middle school dance to complete her stay at Deer Park Middle School! I am sure she was the life of the party.

Making Memories! Layne's Graduation June 2023

Here we go!  The day has come for Layne's graduation from Deer Park High School.  Some pre-ceremony home pictures!

We had our tickets in hand and were ready for graduation.

Up on the big screen were pictures of each senior.  This is one of Layne's!
Here they come two by two into the gym.  It was hard to get a clear picture of Layne.  One because of all the people around and two because I was sort of emotional.  Can't believe we are here watching Layne graduate.  She is the closest one in this picture.
Layne is on the left with her Grizzly cap on.
Layne got several awards that she wore at graduation.  She added a lei that made her easy to spot!
All smiles!

I took a lot of pictures and really wanted to add most of them to this post.  After all this is a one time experience.

All the seniors are filing in!

Layne and other seniors were acknowledged as Salutatorians.

One senior was chosen to give the graduation speech.  It was a good one about loving each other and making a difference in the world.

The support section.  Mike and I were on the other side of the gym.

Now it became a reality.  The seniors are graduating.

I was at an angle that I could only get a picture of Layne from the back.  She is next to the podium now.

And there you have it.  Layne has officially graduated.
She looked on with a big smile when her friend Brookie graduated.

There they are.  The principal had a few last words for the graduates.
It's time to turn the tassels.

Boom! The celebration begins and the caps fly.

Lots of caps in the air!
Layne is looking up to see her cap fly.
Still waiting for it to come down!
Picture time. I am sure we all enjoyed this more than Layne.  She smiled and endured!

Off she goes!

And that's a wrap.   We are all so proud of Layne.  She accomplished so much in spite of having to deal with the Covid issue during her time in high school.  She truly is a shining star and a blessing to us all.  We love her!  God has great and mighty things in store for her.  We will be there to watch and support her in any way we can.  You can count on that Layne!
