Friday Night with Lucy and the Mudhens

A trip to Post Falls, Idaho to see Lucy and the Mudhens.  Thinking back I am not sure we have watched the Lucy play for the Mudhens.  Maybe we have and I forgot.  Number 2 Lucy Lathrop!

Hit by a pitch got her on base the first time.

Great play being celebrated.
The cheer team in the outfield! I think pompoms would be a good touch!! Just a thought.
Batter up!
A walk!

Great balance!!!
Fabulous play by all.  Lucy got the tag out!!!
One game in the books!!! Can't wait to go again!!!!

Upper Columbia RV May 2024

Our first camping trip of 2024.  We had camped at the Upper Columbia RV Park about 7 years ago and loved it.  This time it was still as beautiful for sure and a very relaxing time.  It has changed and we were lucky to get a spot. Most people at the park are seasonal.  Almost all of them, so there isn't as many campers coming and going.  A few came as were were leaving.
Sammie.  I am not sure she is a fan of camping but she did fine.  We are missing Murphy now so she doesn't have a buddy.
In his element.
Me too.  Enjoying the fire Mike built on our first evening.
Handsome guy here.

I took a little tour around the park to take some pictures.

This person was here when we came last time.

Day two we took a short hike to the Columbia River down some narrow stairs.  Mike had to carry Sammie.  She doesn't do stairs anymore.  You can barely see his red jacket.
Mike is getting ready to cross the railroad tracks with Sammie.
Beautiful, so many ferns!

Our dog Sammie doesn't have the strength she used to have.  She gets carried when she gets tired.  Hmm, wish we could get carried now and then.  HA!
The Columbia River in all it's glory!

I tried to recreate a picture I took last time we camped here.  Didn't get it exactly right.  Mike was farther down on the bank last time.

Wispy clouds are magnificent.

Resting. Sammie always wants to be with Mike so she is pulling the leash to get to him.

Mike saw guys fishing going down the river in a boat. He waved and they responded.
Here they are!
Then we had to wait for a train before we could cross the tracks to get back to the campground.  Trains are fun to watch.

The caboose.
Time for a Sammie walk around the park.
One more time to the river.  Mike had tried to fish earlier in the day.  No luck.  We thought we would go down to the river and read. A storm was coming as it did often this week.
Mike got all settled in.  You can barely see him with his chair ready to get reading. Weather looks fine from this direction.
This way was a different story.  The wind started blowing hard enough to pick up sand.  No reading and back to the trailer quickly.

It was a good idea but the weather had other ideas.

The set up.

Mike and his fires.  He loves building them and enjoying his efforts.
These are the tracks we had to cross to get to the river. What a beautiful view!

A man and his axe!

The end.  It was a relaxing trip in the beauty of God's creation.  Next trip that is planned will be in Idaho.
