Better trip than the last travel trailer trip. The rv park wasn't at all like the pictures again. We did have a good time and we met some nice people. The park wasn't maintained as it should have been. It was too dry to take the 4 wheeler out and about because we would be covered with dirt. Now the good stuff. This part of the trip was a highlight for sure. One of the people at the rv park shared about the swinging bridge in Montana. It wasn't far from our camp! We took off to see it. Wow!!!
Here we go! Off to the bridge!
Apparently there are bears in the area.
Mike is intently reading about the fish in the river.
Before we got to the bridge we went to the Kootenai Falls.
Not there yet but wow! God's creation is so amazing!
Watch out for the wildlife. Could be dangerous!
Pictures never do God's creation justice!
We had great timing. Two rafts and one kayak ready to take off down the rapids.
Here they go. They stayed close to the bank of the river.
The struggle was real, keeping the rafts going the right direction. These were serious rapids.
This is the last picture I got of this raft. The were so close to the edge that I lost them.
Next!!
This was the most impressive. The man in the kayak really had to be strong to guide that kayak through the rapids.
Off they go!
Down the river in search of more rapids.
We headed to the bridge which was the opposite direction of the falls. Look who was there. Our timing was great. Pretty sure they stopped to chart their next moves. Mighty Mike!
We made it to the bridge.
Look in that back of the picture. Rafters again.
The man in the kayak had to really fight to get through this rapid.
He made it!
Off they go to conquer more rapids on the river. These men had to be very, very experienced. We were fortunate to see them.
We took a stroll over the bridge and it did swing a bit especially when the wind blew. We felt perfectly safe! I took pictures of the structure to see how it was suspended. Big heavy cables along the top. Not sure how the cables on the sides function but they have a part in making it secure.
Big iron supports on the ends of the bridge. I loved this adventure. It was a great day. God is so so good.
More cables on the other side.
Behind our campsite construction was happening. Storage sheds were going in. I learned a lot about pouring concrete from Mike. He use to pour concrete. He watched and watched. So did I. I was thankful this all started right before we left. The property right behind our campsite is owned by someone else.
