The Annual Spring Dash 2023

Well, the Spring Dash changed a bit this year.  It wasn't just a 5 mile race. We had the option of a half marathon, 10k or 5K.  We selected the 10K because the next Sunday we would be doing a 12K.  Bloomsday!!!  Yahoo.  It was a beautiful and perfect for a 6.2 mile walk.
Here we are, ready to go!

The crowd gathers at the start line for the 10K.
This is such a scenic route! Lake Couer d Alene, the blues skies that frame the tall green trees are beautiful.
The houses along across from lake are amazing.
We found some friends. Kat and Freida.

This is Thomas! Thomas had a lot to say about life, his parents and more!  He hung right with us for awhile telling his stories.
We are on the home stretch!
AHHH! Created for us to enjoy! Thank you God!

Let's not forget the turkey cheering us on!
We did it and headed to our next stop! The Bakery by the Lake.  Frieda and Kat saved us a spot because thy finished before us. I am not sure how many years we have done this race but it is a good one and I hope the tradition of the Spring Dash and the Bakery by the Lake goes on for many years to come.

Spring Dash 2019 CDA, Idaho

Wind, rain, hail but we all gathered for another year to do the Spring Dash in CDA!  We were under shelter here! Jackie, Kat, Freida, Leslie.  Leslie was new to the crew this year and we were missing Sheila and Michelle!
 Marianne joined the picture.
Kat's face is how we all really felt about doing the race!
Look! A little blue sky.  There was hope!!!  It didn't last!
Right along the lake.  No matter what the weather this is beautiful.

A fast guy!  He was on his way back.
Not as fast as the fast guy but fast! Kat and
Freida!
 Marianne!
While the rest of the group were running we stopped and ate Girl Scout Cookies.  They offered!  We really couldn't say no.

Peggy and Bonnie thought the race started at 10:00 and it started at 9:30.  Minor detail!

See, it was windy.  This tree proves it.  He had hail but not enough gather on the ground for a picture.
 Done!
Now off to our favorite bakery and lunch spot.
Kat was watching her dog!  Doggie camera at home!
 Leslie and Marianne!
That is one giant cinnamon roll.
Looks like she is going to enjoy every bite!
The cinnamon roll still hasn't been eaten.  Bonnie and Peggy joined us for lunch.
Waterproof gear was a must on this day.  It always feels good to finish knowing the conditions weren't perfect.  We did it despite the weather and it was good to be together.  That's what it's all about friends spending time together!
