The Spring Dash in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho 2025

A beautiful day in Coeur d Alene, Idaho for the Spring Dash 10 K.  I was on my own for this race but I knew it would help me for Bloomsday which was the next weekend.
I found friends.  They are all runners.  It was great to see my former teaching colleagues.

Getting ready for the start!
As usual the scenery was breathtaking.

See the two ladies in the center of the photo way ahead of me.  I ended up walking with them for several miles.  I made new friends.
Hit the turn around and headed back to the start or should I say to the finish.

The last stretch.
I walked faster than normal and I was thrilled.  I felt great at the end. I did jog now and then for a few steps.  That helped the time.  6.2 miles done and I am ready for Bloomsday!

Spring Dash 2022, The Tradition Continues!

Finally, we are doing this beautiful event again in the real world.  The tradition continues with Sheila!
It was beautiful but cold.  After a couple pictures we headed to the car to wait for the start.  Another tradition is getting to the Spring Dash way too early. Some day we will remember that we do that every year.

Wild animals!
And here we are! Packets are picked up and we are headed to the car to be warm and wait.
Same scenery different year!

Well, that's an announcement and a first.
The long and winding road on the highway.
Girl Scout cookies were available at the turn around.  Yum!!!

These girls were looking at their phones until they saw me taking pictures.  That perked them up for sure.  Not the best support crew. In their defense I am sure they were done sitting in the cold!  We were no longer cold because we were moving.
Bunnies.  This was a first.

Lake Coeur d Alene is beautiful!!!!

Wow, just wow!  That is one big house.
This is a fake wild animal, it never moves year after year.
There are so many beautiful homes along the course.
We are on the home stretch.  Mile 5 is coming to an end! Bloomsday is next!
We crossed the finish line in fine style and headed right to the bakery as we always do.  It was so good to do this in person.  It is one of my favorite events.  A great distance, beautiful scenery with a great friend.

Quarantine Adventures 2020

Yes, it did! It snowed twice during our quarantine time.  I don't mind at all but I know others really did.  This is at the Lathrops.
Things to do! Get chicks!  Not ours!
I think Sammie is done with all this already!
Mike and I decided to drive to the backside of Mt. Spokane.  We didn't end up where we wanted to but we were out of the house.  Turkeys! Lots of them.

Our last trip to Riverside State Park which closed not long after this!

Our second drive to find the backside of Mt. Spokane where Mike wanted to go.
 We made it!

These tracks were big enough to cause us to get out of the car and investigate.  Mike said maybe wolf tracks.  No human tracks were around these so it wasn't someone walking a huge dog.  We should have put a quarter by the tracks so it would show how big they were.

The road finally ended and we turned around while we still could.  We decided to go see the mobile home in Chattaroy where my mom used to live in the summer.

 Wow!  It has been painted.

Mike loves Sammie and you can't pick Sammie up without Murphy wanting some love.

Just a walk to the neighborhood park.

 Family baseball.  Fun!

 HMMM
Easter.  I got dressed in my Easter clothes even though we didn't go to church.
 Dog walking happened a lot.
 Praying on Rutter Parkway!

A nice 4 mile walk through the neighborhood!

Sheila and I went to pick up our packets for the Spring Dash, which was virtual.  We did our 5 miles right there in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.  Not at all sure why I started taking pictures of every sign I saw.   I guess I haven't taken pictures for awhile and anything that was available was picture worthy.

Guess who else was doing the virtual run in Idaho!  We even got to go to our favorite eating spot.  Of course we ordered to go.
That's all for now.  Hopefully, there won't be another quarantine blog post.
