Gleason Visit Day One and Two July 2025

The annual summer trip to the river for the Gleason family! Grandpa Mike and Rivers.  Rivers is 13 years old.
This is me with Gray.  Gray is 6 years old.

Mike and Steve! Father and son.
I am not sure what Mike was looking for but when he has his binoculars there is always a chance something might be roaming around in the forest.  Nothing this time.

Boat time.  We always take a ride in the pontoon boat.
Rivers! 1-2-3 BACK FLIP

Fishing is a focus for everyone!  Not my favorite but they all love it.
Mike is helping Landry, River's friend.
Jenny and Steve!
Mike, a cousin and Gray!
We took off in the pontoon and Rivers helped push us off. We left him! No problem, he jumped in and swam to the boat.
They call this the diaper life jacket. Weird but they love it.

Drinking root beer in the water!

Cousin, Michel and Gray
Not sure what they are doing!

Coaching!

Here we go, they are all worn out!
Mike is the pillow!!
This is called the clay beach.  It is full of clay!!
Mike, Gray and Michel!

There was clay fight going on.  A lot like a snowball fight but with clay. Clay is nothing like mud.  It is sticky and hard to remove from anything.
Beau joined the fight.
I hope they clean the front of the pontoon boat because of the clay that landed on the front of it.
As alway we love getting to spend time with our NOLA family in this beautiful setting. They are headed home soon!

Last Visit on the Pend Oreille River this Year

A glorious day fishing off the dock!
Rivers caught a fish right away.
While Gray decided to swim in her clothes!
There it is! Fishing isn't my thing but it really brings a lot of joy to the Gleasons.

There it is!  It went back in the water to live another day.
There she goes in her clothes!

This was a pencil jump.  Gray asked for count down from Michel. Perfect I will know exactly when to snap the picture but no! Gray just went for it in the middle of the countdown.  I pencil jump is feet first straight down.
Hanging with the family.
I decided to take a kayak ride.
This is the Gleason's house from the kayak.

The white speck is a bird.  I think a seagull or something like a seagull.  I wanted to see how close I could get to the bird without it flying away.
The birds didn't like the kayak so they did hang around long.
See the white head in the tree?  A bald eagle. Happy!!!!!  I was pretty close to the tree but the eagle was way up in the tree so it was hard to get a picture.
I spent some time here just waiting for the eagle to take flight but it was perfectly content in the tree.
Gray and a bug zapper.  She had a small grasshopper and was shocking it over and over.  It was dead so she didn't torture it.

The many faces of Gray.
More swimming. Gray and one of Steve's caregivers.
The big event of the day.  Rivers waits for his turn.
I am not sure what this device is called.  Mike said it cost about $14,000!  It is controlled buy the rider with a device that is held.
There is a board to lay on, turn it on and the propeller underneath moves you forward.  Then to your knees and then you stand up.  You can hover above the water because there is a long pole underneath it and the propeller is at the bottom of the pole.  Not the best description, you sort of have to see it.
Here goes Rivers.

Dave Martin brought this and was a great coach.

Rivers was able to stand up and hover over the water.

Steve's caregiver did great.

Michel and Gray..
Time to head out!

What a precious time to spend with family!  The Gleasons are headed to Spokane for the golf tournament fundraiser.  We will see you next year at the Pend Oreille River!!!  Love you all.
