Layne's 20th Birthday and Gleason Golf August 2025

The pictures loaded in reverse order but I am not fixing them.  The golf tournament was after we visited Deer Park.  Keri and Ryland came from Colorado to golf in the Team Gleason fundraiser golf tournament.  We totally loved having them stay with us!  It was so so good!  Now to the dinner after the golf tournament.  Steve gave a speech and so did others.

This is Blair's son talking to Mike.  Blair's son was amazing and funny as he quizzed Mike!

Michel and Steve. Steve wasn't feeling great this evening.

Ryland painted a couple of small things on this picture.  Birds or leaves, I can't remember.  I think all golfers were able to add a little.

Dinner.
There was a crowd!
Pretzel time at our house.
Ryland learned happy birthday so he could play it for Layne.  Her birthday was just a few days later.
And here she is the birthday girl.  We headed to Deer Park because traveling was difficult for Layne.  You will see a few pictures later why traveling was difficult.
Lucy and Keri with the chickens.

Keri is trying to feel corn husks to the chickens.
Here it is.  Surgery on both knees and a brace on each leg.

Success?
Ryland had never husked corn.

He got the hang of it quickly.  A new adventure for Ryland.

This is a group photo at Layne's request.  Kristin, Justin, Mike, Ryland, Keri, Jackie and Layne.
Layne is now back at college with no braces or crutches.  Not sure what her recovery will be like but we pray it will be swift and that she will be running with her team sooner than later.  It was such a precious time.  Not often we have this much family around.  Beyond words how wonderful it was.

Gleason Visit Day One and Two July 2025

The annual summer trip to the river for the Gleason family! Grandpa Mike and Rivers.  Rivers is 13 years old.
This is me with Gray.  Gray is 6 years old.

Mike and Steve! Father and son.
I am not sure what Mike was looking for but when he has his binoculars there is always a chance something might be roaming around in the forest.  Nothing this time.

Boat time.  We always take a ride in the pontoon boat.
Rivers! 1-2-3 BACK FLIP

Fishing is a focus for everyone!  Not my favorite but they all love it.
Mike is helping Landry, River's friend.
Jenny and Steve!
Mike, a cousin and Gray!
We took off in the pontoon and Rivers helped push us off. We left him! No problem, he jumped in and swam to the boat.
They call this the diaper life jacket. Weird but they love it.

Drinking root beer in the water!

Not sure what they are doing!

Coaching!

Here we go, they are all worn out!
Mike is the pillow!!
This is called the clay beach.  It is full of clay!!
Mike, Gray and Michel!

There was clay fight going on.  A lot like a snowball fight but with clay. Clay is nothing like mud.  It is sticky and hard to remove from anything.
Beau joined the fight.
I hope they clean the front of the pontoon boat because of the clay that landed on the front of it.
As alway we love getting to spend time with our NOLA family in this beautiful setting. They are headed home soon!
