Dodger and Mariners Birthday Game!

This was a great birthday present.  The Mariners and the Dodgers the last weekend of the regular season.  Thanks Mike! Katie helped us with parking and it was a breeze for sure.

Mariners field.  It is Safeco or T-Mobile now?  We had great seats thanks to Mike.  We got them right
after my birthday in May.
I didn't take my camera so the pictures aren't great but the memories made were great.
Warm up time for the Dodgers.
The Star Spangled Banner!

Dave Robert getting ready to go!
Ohtani was the star of the show for everyone.  Each time he got up to bat the crowd stood and took pictures.
We did too.
Andy Pages.
This might have been Michael Conforto.

Ohtani on deck!
Videos of Ohtani

The fish race.  Fan favorite!
More Ohtani.

Cal Raleigh the home run hitter for the Mariners.
Hot dogs from Heaven.  The hotdogs came down from the upper deck in little parachutes.  I didn't get
one.  I didn't really want one but it was fun to watch everyone going for the dogs.

Dodgers for the win.  Both teams are headed for the playoffs.  I'll be cheering for both of them.
Kershaw has retired.  He didn't pitch this night but it will be sad to see him go.  Agreat career as a
Dodger.

Lou Gerhirg Seattle Mariners First Pitch

Seattle Mariners Lou Gehrig ALS Day! A trip to Seattle to see Rivers throw out the first pitch, representing Steve.
Ken Griffey Jr.
I did this for my daughters.  I sent them this picture. I took a picture like this in the past every time I went to a Mariners game.  My picture by the giant player mural.  My daughters did this same thing when I was in the hospital at Harborview Medical Center back in 2012.  They took a break from being at the hospital!  I have the pictures they took.
On the field before the game.  Mike, Rivers, me and Steve.
It was really amazing getting to watch batting practice on the field.  Up close and personal.

Just waiting for the first pitch.
Mike is sporting his Wisconsin gear in support of Ryland's future college. Not one person asked why Mike was wearing a Wisconsin shirt.
Warming up for the first pitch!

Here we go!
Bryan Woo, the pitcher that caught River's pitch.

Family and caregivers!!  Oh, and the Mariner moose.
Rivers did an interview after the game.  He did a great job.
Even though the suite we stayed in was on an upper level, we had a great view of the game.
Out of order but here are some additional pictures of the event.

This was a great night. So fun to spend time with the NOLA Gleason's, at least part of them.  It is quite an experience being on the field for the first pitch.  Team Gleason has done so much for ALS.  Steve's foundation has helped so many people with ALS in many, many ways!

1st Pitch Mariners Game June 2, 2024

This was a first for us.  Steve invited us to come to the Mariners game because it was the ALS Awareness Day and he would be participating in throwing out the first pitch.
When we got to the stadium we were escorted to the green room.  Why they call it the green room I don't know.  It was where we waited.   It's not green.
A picture of a picture, Ichiro wasn't there.
Ken Griffey JR wasn't there either.
I have wanted to step foot on a major league field for a long time.  Well, I got my chance!!

Here we are!!!
I think that thing the struck me the most was how big the field is, especially the outfield.  The players have to run a long way to get the ball!  They are really good, really good.
On the big screen Lou Gehrig!
Mariners warming up.  I didn't bring my regular camera.  It has a detachable lens.  Not allowed.  I could have because no one was checking us for things like that. Who knew!

The Star Spangled Banner was played by Mike McCreedy.
The McCreedy family.
Time for the big event.
These two young people lost their dad to ALS the previous year.  They each threw out a picture to the Mariners left fielder.
Sad reason to be there throwing out the first pitch and they did a great job.

This is the view from the suite we had.  It seemed far away but we had a birds eye of everything that happened.  Mike and I liked the view!

Celebrating!

Celebrating again.
And the Mariners win!!!

The group!!!
