Deer Park Stags Softbal! CHAMPIONS!

What an exciting season for these girls.  Big wins over and over!  It's exciting for us to watch too. Lucy ended up with 20 home runs.  3 don't count in her league total because they were playoff games.  She passed her own home run record that she got in her freshman year.

Heading home!

She was all smiles and so were we.
I love this picture.  Lucy and the pitcher.

This was the last at bat of the game. It happened so fast I couldn't avoid the fence.  Lucy hit a 2 run home run over the right field fence to secure the win!
The celebration. Off they go to the 2A state tournament.

Pure Joy!

Here they are! You can always pick Lucy out because of the pink sleeve.

Lucy!
I learned these girls pray together before games.  That was the best news ever.  They are a special group!  ON TO STATE! See you there!

Softball with Lucy in Pullman

We decided to take the hour and a half drive to Pullman to watch Lucy and the Deer Park Stags play softball.  From what I heard Pullman might provide some competition for the Stags.  It didn't work out that way.  16 to 0 victory for Deer Park.  The team did so good. Lots of hits and no mistakes in the field.  Lucy got a double and a home run.

Here comes the double.

Talking to the outfielders I assume.
Lucy was walked on her third at bat.  It didn't work out very well for Pullman.  The player behind her crushed the ball and everyone on base scored.  A home run!  Pullman has a history of walking Lucy.  It didn't work out this time.

They all came home!!!

I have been trying to get this hop and twirl that Lucy does on camera.  This was my first attempt of the game.
Not great but I will keep trying.

Love this mighty roar.  Thanks for the edit Kristin.
Pullman didn't walk Lucy at her next at bat.  They probably regretted that decision but we were all glad they didn't. This is a home run.  When I was looking through the camera it looked like the ball was really low.  I was right.  Lucy crushed it! The ball is heading toward her bat.
I missed the actually ball hitting the bat but it was gone!
Rounding the bases!

If you enlarge this picture you will see a big smile on Lucy's face!
Lucy's home run went somewhere in this vicinity.  Far, far away!
Trying again! I think the one finger in the air means one out!

Got it!
And the landing.  Mission accomplished!
It was a short game. 5 innings and it was over.  It was cold so a short game was OK.
Game over and time to head home!  I still want to see the white crosses on Lucy's face come back!  Again, so fun to watch this team and Lucy! We will be back in a couple of days to watch again!
