Biking with Sheila and Kayaks with Sheila and Bonnie

Fun days with friends started with a bike ride!  Sheila and I started in the Spokane Valley and turned around at Post Falls, Idaho.  It was about a 10 mile ride.  Our turn around point was at a park on the outskirts of Post Falls.  I am loving my more comfortable, new bike.

This is where Sheila decided we should take a rest.  Of course there were more benches to sit on that weren't covered with foliage from a tree.  Interesting choice.

We discovered this park a couple of years ago with help from a friend.

After a short rest we head back to our starting spot.  As we were crossing the Spokane River we spotted ducks, lots of ducks.

Next adventure was on Clear Lake!  We spent a couple of hours kayaking and talking! Bonnie joined for this adventure.
The day started out with a lot of fog and we considered canceling.  So glad we didn't!  Look at this weather.  It was just right.  Not too hot!

Water like glass.

I found a big rock with birds on it.  As I got closer I scared them away.  Sorry birds.

This was really the last adventure for Sheila.  Time for meetings and getting a classroom ready for students before school starts for her.

Priest Lake and Sandpoint Weekend

One of Mike's high school buddies and his wife invited us to their lake cabin at Priest Lake!   Relaxing, yes!  Beautiful, yes!  Wonderful people to share the weekend with, YES! This is the view from their deck.  They own several lots.
The property was owned at one time by Dick's grandfather.  His grandfather's home still stands.
This is the trailer that Dick and Mary lived in when they were first married.  It was not on this property then!
Saturday we headed to the water!  The men of summer!
 The women of summer!
This was my first time in the kayak.  Finally!
 Mary!
This is the most amazing dog that has ever graced planet Earth!  Lizzy.  She can catch bees and does!  A lot!  Among her many talents she likes to play fetch in the water!

Time for a little swim!  Mike had already gone for a 800 yard swim so he sat this one out!
 Dick, Mary, Jackie
 Brrrr!  Priest Lake is cold!
This Priest Lake adventure is a family affair.  Kate and Dave are Dick's siblings.  What a wonderful group of people!
 Really MIKE?
Mary and Dick.  Mary and I spent a lot of time talking like we had been friends for years.  Really enjoyed the time spent with her! Thanks for inviting us to share your weekend Dick and Mary!  We loved it.
Sunday we took of to Sandpoint to see Michel, Steve, and Rivers!  Rivers loves music and my Martin guitar!  I shared.

I always have visions of Rivers sitting in my lap and reading him books. Well, it finally happened.  He slowed down enough for a couple of minutes.
This is the first book he selected.  I wish I could reproduce the sounds he made while we read this on a blog.  So cute!

 Good night.  Time to relax!
Is that the most adorable face you have ever seen?
Happy, happy!  Rivers, Mike and Michel.
Now some outside time.  Water balloons.  They were so tiny it was a chore tying them up. Rivers threw them in his little pool.
There is a tiny balloon all tied up.
More relaxing in the hot tub.
 Precious picture!

Angels come in all shapes and sizes.  Blair is an angel for sure.   He takes care of Steve, Rivers, and Michel.  Can't tell you how much we appreciate him.  You are a good person Blair Casey!  We are thankful that you are a part of the lives of the Gleason group!
Signing off for now with a picture of Rivers!
