Rock and Roll Sunday

A dark start to the race on Sunday.  Not to mention it was brrr cold!
The sun made its appearance before the start of the race.  Still cold but beautiful!
 Here we go!
I didn't take a lot of pictures because my hands were cold!  Really cold!  I wanted to keep them tucked in my sweatshirt.
I did manage to snap a few pictures of the baseball stadium.  I love baseball!

The band members were all bundled up!
6.2 miles in the books!  I warmed up some by the end of the race.  It was a beautifully clear day.
There were big crowds after the race.
Bonnie and I had our warming blankets on!

 A bigger crowd than Saturday.

There is a story here.  We were taking the light rail to a stop where Keri could easily pick us up.  She was so nice to drop us off in the early, early morning.  My map app said it was 4.4 miles to the station.  We decided to walk.  It had the potential of being a bad decision.
As were were walking we kept talking about getting an Uber.  We didn't.  What's the big deal, walking 4 more miles.
We were at the light rail station, we thought.  It wasn't 4.4 miles. About 2 miles.  But this was not the light rail station it was the train station.  AHHHH.  We talked to a nice man that told us where the light rail station was.  Only 2 blocks away.  Whew!
We found it.  The issue then was how to get a ticket.  We saw where you could use your pass but no place to buy a ticket.  We walked back to where we could see workers.  The man we asked did not speak much English.  He tried to help us.  No luck, still no tickets.  The place he sent us to was closed.  We finally talked to a security person and he directed us right back to our original place.  We had missed the place to buy tickets.  I think we ended up walking over 14 miles for the day.
We got back to Keri's and discovered our flight was delayed 1.5 hours.  That would get us home about 2 AM.  Work for me on Monday. What do we do?  We were supposed to go the Escape Rooms with the Doolittles.  Bonnie and I decided to try and change our flight. We called and got on an earlier flight.  We had a long layover in Las Vegas but were home by 10:45 PM. It was quite the adventure.  Can't wait for another Denver adventure.  Goodbye to the Doolittles and Denver.  We will be back for sure.  Thanks for a fun, adventure filled weekend.

Denver Rock and Roll Race Number One

Off we go! A Saturday 5K in Denver, Colorado.  My favorite part of this picture is Mark's tights.  We all had them on so he put some tights on.  I am not sure why he had them.

We didn't start the race until 9 AM!  Beautiful day in the morning. Not so much in the afternoon.
We found Kat and Freida!
This is called the pancake apparently!  How does one do this?
Not just one but two!

Ok, time to get serious!
Well, Easton looks serious!

This was a rock and roll race.  Bands lined the streets, sort of.

We had our moment!
And we are finished.  I am getting back in shape from my last surgery.  I was happy with my time and pace.  I do believe Keri pushed me some.  Ryland got 2nd in his age group.  Easton got 4th.  They were in the same age group. Oh, what fun to do a race with family and friends!
This was the big band at the end of the race in the park.

Well, there is a story here.  This is a dust pan and broom.  Ryland has to clean up after himself after eating.  He gets things all over the floor consistently.  This would be a great tool for him.
Football and soccer time.  Easton!  That is all I have to say, just Easton.
Ryland, number 10, had a great game.  3 out of the 4 goals were scored by no other than Ryland!
This is where the weather turned.  Still sunny but really windy.  The temperature continued to drop throughout the day. BRRR!

This was one of his goals!
Got it in and off he goes!
Football.  Telling the truth here.  It was hard to watch these little boys playing tackle football.  Easton was a star for sure.
Number 13!

Ryland got a hold of my camera!

Here he comes!
A boy and his coach!

Whew, all done!
Saturday night was a class at Keri's business Board and Brush.  It was so much fun.  I am so proud of Keri and Mark.  This was a huge undertaking and it is fabulous!

I think I have this in the right order.  Sand, stain, put the board together, peel the stencil apart, place the stencil on the board, paint the letters on the stencil, distress and wax.  It was a lot of fun work and I needed a decent amount of help.
Bonnie sanding.
Keri at work.  She is a great leader!
Rubber gloves for stain.
Work, work, work!

Drilling the boards together!
Tada! The final product.   Wow was this a blast.  I can't wait to do it again.
Thanks Keri for a wonderful night!  Bonnie and I loved it!!!
