Softball! Deer Park vs. Medical Lake

Here we are again.  Deer Park High School vs. Medical Lake High School.  I don't really know if there is anything I could write that I haven't already written.  Lucy is a really, really, really great softball player.  She did a great job pitching.  The score was back and forth and tied at the 7th inning.  One of the Deer Park girls hit a home run with runners on and they took the lead.  They kept the lead and won the game. 

This was a really bad field for pictures.  I managed to take some from the out field through the fence.  This wasn't Lucy's first at bat.  She got up in the first inning and bam, the ball was over the fence.  Home run Lucy.  She is one home run from tying the season Deer Park record for home runs.  Deer Park has just started league play.  She will break that record.  

This at bat was a triple. 

Lucy is on third ready to go home.

I was able to get these close ups by invading the Medical Lake space.  No one minded. 

All smiles and a victory for Deer Park.  

Lucy had some spectators for this game.  Some of her Mudhens (club team) teammates came to cheer her on!

Lucy and High School Softball

Deer Park High School has a new softball player this year.  Boy is she a good player.  Lucy is pitching for the Deer Park High School Varsity.  She is a freshman.  A good pitcher she is that is for sure. I must say something about the weather when spectating in March.  The temperature wasn't bad but the wind reduced the temperature about 15 degrees.  That's a guess. Wind chill brrrr!  Wasn't so bad in the beginning but it got colder and colder.  It was worth dealing with the cold because it was a great game and we got to watch Lucy.

Lucy can really swing the bat.  She has a SWEET swing as they say.

Back at it!!!

We debated about leaving early because of the cold!  So, so glad we didn't. Deer Park won big!

If we would have left early we would have missed Lucy's home run!  What a thrill watching the ball go over the center field fence and seeing the center fielder lift her arms to let everyone know Lucy hit a home run, again!!!
