Happy 17th Wedding Anniversary at Dodger Stadium

I love singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame.  Every stadium I am in I always whisper Dodger when I root, root, root for the home team.  I just think that Take Me Out to the Ballgame is one of the best songs ever.  A real highlight of the trip was to sing that song and to be able to shout out root, root, root for the DODGERS in Dodger Stadium.  A highlight for sure.  Not kidding when I say I teared up.

Before we get to the game we met a couple of interesting individuals.  We saw Willie McGinnis in the grocery store.  Mike talked to him a little (neither one of could remember his name) then I suggested he go back and get a picture.  Shocking I know. He had to tell us his name.  Fun moment.  He isn't my favorite because he said baseball can get boring.  He doesn't get it.  Willie was very nice and friendly.
Mike made friends with Teo at our first game.  They became fast friends.  I almost had to drag Mike away to get him to sit with me.  They shared their stories.  Everyone has a story to tell you know.  Teo is a stand up comedian, works at Disneyland and has worked on the staff at Dodger Stadium for 15 years.  He is a fan favorite.  Everyone knows him.
Now we are here for our 17th wedding anniversary which means we were here 18 years ago.  Way too long for me. Again, we got here early but not quite as early as the first game.  Mike was happy, he got to talk with Teo some more.

This is where we walked into Dodger Stadium on our honeymoon.

Of course we had to go in this way again even though there was a closer gate.  Memories!

Remember Teo.  Well, Mike came and got me because Teo had a surprise for us.  I had to go see him before the game and we had to be together.  Teo gave us a tour of the Dugout Club.  A tour you have to pay for normally.  Oh my, I was so excited and so happy Teo did this for us.

Well, look who happened to be getting in the elevator when we were there.  Manny Mota!

Teo showed us where the players came in and out.  No Dodgers were there.  Darn.  Thank you to Teo for making this day even more special.  I was speechless, I really was.  I know that might be hard for anyone who knows me to believe.
 Game warm up time!!!

Bellinger and Seager

Clayton Kershaw with Rich Hill
Kenley Jansen switched jerseys with a Lakers player that was just drafted.  I have no idea who it was.
We were not able to get autographs but those with seats in the first row got Cory Seagers!  Mostly small children!
Before the game started some kids were able to go on the field to the players positions and get autographs.
 Wood pitched the game.

Bellinger
 Cory Seager and bubble gum!
 Base hit Seager!

Bases are loaded!
At both games they honored someone who had served in the military.

Double for Seager but there were issues.
He came out of the game as soon as he made it to home plate.  He hasn't played in the last two game.  Strained something.  He will be back soon.

The tail end of Puig's home run!
I went online to see if I could do this and what do you know, I could.  This showed up right after the last out of the 5th inning.  It scrolled across with other announcements.  I think we saw it come up about 5 times.  Mike was surprised and he really liked it! Happy Anniversary Mike Gleason!  Can't wait to celebrate number 18!

I visited fan services on the advice of one of the workers. I told them it was our anniversary.  They got our seat number to bring us a certificate that said were were at Dodger Stadium to celebrate.  Turns out we got more than a certificate.  I have never seen Mike in a Dodger hat.
Hats, license plate holders, pennants, wristbands, pins and more.  Very nice and very much appreciated! Dodger heaven.
We switched seats because a friend of Steve's was at the game.  He is a friend of ours too.  We joined them behind home plate.  JD lives in CA and goes to about 10 games with his family.  Nice seats.
 The back of Tommy Lasorda!
Great game and they defeated the Rockies.  Now it's time for fireworks.
 Back to the dugout.

Fans are allowed on the field for the fireworks.  We decided to stay put and not fight the crowd.
No one could go on the infield.

Here we go.  It was a great show.  Summer night, Dodger baseball, and fireworks.  Perfection.

You can see the people below in this picture.

What a trip!  My favorite part was when our anniversary message was scrolled on the Dodger Ribbon.  It was a special moment to celebrate our anniversary.  Dodger stadium was where we celebrated our marriage in the year 2000.
