Fall Decorations 2022

These are just for reference for me.  I don't have to figure out my decorations for fall next year.  I just look at these.

Mike's 70th Birthday Party

I got one picture of the party.  I was so busy doing stuff I forgot about pictures.  It was a great time with about 25 friends! The Lathrop family, Mike and Avery (Lucy's friend)>

Fall Decorations

These are for me to look at for next year so I don't have to rethink everything.

Lucy, Lucy, Lucy

This was Lucy's last softball game this year for Deer Park.  The team is gathered and ready to get started.
Lucy and Avery warming up??? Or posing for a picture.
Now the actual warm up!
This is Avery, Lucy's best buddy!
Avery is on base!
Now Lucy!

Lucy pitches for her Deer Park team.

After pitching for a few innings she shifted and played short stop.  She is so talented and can play just about anywhere.

Even on a cool evening playing softball is hard work!  Gotta get the sweat off!
Here we go!
A double!
A double with a slide and she is safe!
I don't remember if this was a steal or someone got a hit.  2nd to...
3rd base!

And then touching home plate!

It was a great fall evening and perfect for a softball game.  Lucy is talented in so many ways and she is a really special girl.  Can't wait to see what is in store for her next year as she heads to high school.

Layne's Cross Country at Lakeside 10-2022

A big meet with a lot of schools and we all were so thrilled with Layne's race!  Shoelace preparation here.
The girls getting ready at the start line.  Look for the yellow sweatshirts.

Each race the girls warm up before the race and then briefly at the start line.

It's go time!

I love the look on Layne's face in this picture.  You have enlarge it to really see the look.  It was a look of determination and strength! That is how she ran the whole race.
I have not been freed to run or jog yet. I just pick a couple of places that I know I can make it too for pictures.  This picture cracks me up.  The girls just got done climbing a hill.  Layne is covered by hair.
I did manage to get her in a picture.
Each time we saw her we all commented about how strong she looked and how good she was running.

I got Kristin in this picture!
The final lap.  The girl in front of her was not finishing the race.  She had another lap to go.  I circled her coach in the background.
The finish.  Layne finished so strong and in third place out of 75 girls!

Whew!!
Layne was so excited about how the race went and so were we.  At one point she said,"Let's GO!"  I thought she wanted to go but NOPE.  She was excited and ready to do this again.  I wish I could describe the atmosphere around her and around all of us afterwards.  Her coach talked to us afterward and he was just as excited for what is to come for Layne.
The support crew.
From the right to the left, the top 10 finishers! (I think it was the top 10. The picture doesn't show everyone).
