The Spring Dash in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho 2025

A beautiful day in Coeur d Alene, Idaho for the Spring Dash 10 K.  I was on my own for this race but I knew it would help me for Bloomsday which was the next weekend.  

I found friends.  They are all runners.  It was great to see my former teaching colleagues.

As usual the scenery was breathtaking.  

See the two ladies in the center of the photo way ahead of me.  I ended up walking with them for several miles.  I made new friends. 

Hit the turn around and headed back to the start or should I say to the finish. 

The last stretch. 

I walked faster than normal and I was thrilled.  I felt great at the end. I did jog now and then for a few steps.  That helped the time.  6.2 miles done and I am ready for Bloomsday! 

Lucy's 16th Birthday Party 2025

Here it is! Lucy's 16th Birthday! A day to celebrate for sure. She is a great person!  We love watching her grow into the person she is meant to be.  

Lucy invited a couple of friends to her party. 

Layne was home from college to join the Lucy celebration.

Family and friends spent some time outside and then it was time for the big event.  Brownies and ice cream!

Sisters.  I just love this picture so much.  It brings tears to my eyes.  They are both so precious.

Lucy had two softball games the next day.  Her party was the day before her birthday.  The games were actually on her birthday. I would say her birthday went great.  Two wins for the undefeated Deer Park team and three home runs for Lucy.  Two were grand slams!  

This is a picture I had from back when Lucy first started playing softball.  It was used on the school's social media page for her birthday games.  So cute!  She was ready to go even back then.  

Just had to throw this one in! Lucy's first birthday!  Love you Lucy!  

 

Deer Park vs. Riverside Fastpitch Softball, Lucy

Deer Park Fast pitch softball team is undefeated.  What a team.  I will say that I have to focus more on when things happen as I take pictures.  I got home and was super confused on what was what.  Is this the homer, is this the double?  This is what I know about Lucy.  She hit a home run and a double.  Maybe Lucy can tell which hit was a homer and which was the double.  The home run was first.  I know that.  Maybe I didn't even get a picture of the double.  AHHHH! My goal in the future is to get more action shots of her at shortstop because she makes great plays there. Still want batting pictures of course.  If I take less pictures to remember what was what then I might miss something.  It's a dilemma for sure.  Here they are!

There was a play the resulted in an out when the runner tried to advance to third.  

Sometimes when looking through a camera you can't see everything that happened during a play.  Lucy tagged the runner for an out. 

Thank goodness someone takes these pictures every time a player gets a home run.  Long Ball Lucy! I love it.  

 

Another great game for Deer Park and we look forward to more!  What a great team!
