Christmas Eve 2021

Another year as guests at the Kilgore household, Kristin's in-laws.  Another year of trying to get decent pictures of the grandkids.  They used to be so cooperative.  Not so much anymore.  Lucy!

If Layne keeps growing she will pass Grandpa Mike.  She is 5'10".

Got one decent picture.  Lucy didn't feel very good this night.  

We had lots of food and lots of fun!  We always say a prayer before we eat.  That makes me happy. 

Kristin told Layne she was going to save all the pictures of Layne not cooperating and put them in a book for her when she graduates from high school.  She didn't care.

There were golf balls in the mashed potatoes!  Seriously, there were!

Love my family so much!  We always have a great time on Christmas Eve. 

Layne was peeking out the door to see what Grandpa Jeff got for Christmas.  

His kids went together to get him a gun safe that was delivered on Justin's tractor.  

Lucy spent a significant amount of time right in this position.  Not a good time to feel icky.

The cousins all exchange pajamas and the rule is they have to put them on after they open them. 

Kristin bought the grandparents gifts too.

We also had an ornament exchange.  We participated in that.  

 Best part of the night was getting this recording.  Mike saying if we hadn't used things in 5-10 years we should get rid of them.  At first he said in 5 years and changed it when I wanted to get it on record.

Bald Eagles 2021 December 10

Two trips to see the bald eagles this year.  They first one was snowy and rainy.  The eagles were in hiding although we did see a few.  After our first visit we decided to go again.  We had a lot more success!

It is so hard to get eagles in flight.  They move too fast.  Finding them in the camera is the challenge.  I did get a few. 

So much easier to snap a picture when the eagles are stationary.  

Love this picture.  I thought I was taking a picture of the eagle on the right at the top of the tree.  I knew there were a couple of other eagles close by in the tree but I had no idea I would a picture of 6 eagles.  One is hidden in the branches.  So cool. 

The gray ski and lack of sunshine made getting a good picture challenging.  

We took these through the spotting scope.  

I saw this picture and wondered how the back of the eagle is facing the camera and we can see it looking at us.  I researched and learned an eagle can turn it's head 180 degrees.  

It started to snow and and after over 2 1/2 hours outside in the cold that was our cue to pack up and head home.  You can see the snow if you enlarge the picture and look at the eagle's feathers.  

Another great trip to see the bald eagles at Wolf Lodge Bay in Idaho.  We will be back next year.
