St. Paddy's Five Miler, A Tradition

Well, Bigfoot is real!  Here is a stuffed Bigfoot.  Wonder where they found this Bigfoot.  The location is probably top secret!!!
We were loving this weather.  March races aren't always the best weather.  It was chilly in the morning but what a gorgeous day!  Sunshine!  We have done this race in just about every type of weather possible.  This was a good day!!!!!

Two retired teachers! Linda and Bonnie!

There are always interesting costumes at this race.  Lots of green too!
 Off we go!
Dave snapped some pictures of us.
The route is right along the Spokane River.  No way to take an alternate route unless we jumped in the river! Not that I would ever do that!!!

Not afraid of my picture taking at all!  They are use to humans!

We did it!  5 miles in the books.   Now we have to start training for Bloomsday!  We went to our traditional coffee after we finished.  It had been way too long since we participated together in a race. Love my Elite Athletes Only Different friends.

St. Paddy's 5 Miler 2016

It's been too long!  Time to get back at it for some of us.  Others never stopped.  This was actually our after selfie because our before one was horrendous! Truly it was!  Notice even though the sun is out that our hair is blowing wildly.  It could have been much worse.  In the high 30's at the start which is fine, a few clouds and no rain.  Usually, we deal with rain at this event.  About 2 hours after we finished the winds kicked in even more and it poured rain!  Yippee it waited for us to finish and get to Rocket Bakery!
Together but separate!  Not with us for the end picture but they were around somewhere.
Ready, set, go!  So glad Lesley joined us!!!!

No it wasn't warm. It was actually perfect for walking/running.

Along the Spokane River again and no way to take an alternate route except to swim across the river.  Not that we would ever take an alternate route!  No way, that wouldn't be right.
 The wildlife!

Here is your picture with the river behind you Sheila.
A nice man who also wasn't concerned about time took our picture. I might have over shared a story with him.  Might have.

 Spokane! AHHHHHHH

This is what happens when you stop to take pictures.  Your friend just keeps going.  I caught up.
Does a crow count as wildlife? They aren't as cool as the geese!  Not cool at all actually.
 More beautiful scenery!

This was one of our opportunities to take an alternate route.  We resisted cutting the corner!  Yeah, us!
 The home stretch!
Rocket Bakery time!  A green shirt again.  What do they think it is St. Patrick's Day????

Gotta love the random stranger in the background.  I tried to crop him out but the picture looked weird.  Lesley didn't have any arms.  Here we go!  The event season had begun!  I get to share it all with these fine ladies.  Can't wait!

St. Paddy's Five Miler 2014

The EAOD ready for a new season of events.  Sometimes the weather is pretty iffy at this race but today turned out perfect for a little 5 mile jaunt.  From the left...Freida, Judie, Jackie Sheila, Bonnie!
The wind was blowing and before we started it seemed cold but not once we got going.
Who said there was no Big Foot!  Proof, right here, right now.  First curiosity with the big fella.
Then some admiration except for Sheila.  I think she was thinking the others were nuts, this is not a real Big Foot.
 Then blowing kisses?  Really?
 The wheelchair athletes started first.
Tons of green everywhere although we did not see as many crazy costumes this year.  Maybe the crazy costume people knew I was coming and didn't want to be on the blog.  No Girl Scout Cookie guys this time.  Thankfully!
Go Freida, Go!!!  Knock people over, go fast, do good and don't suck.
We always see Nurse Patty at this event.
 Mile one complete!
Freida was running and we saw her across the river so we took a picture of her.  Can you find here?
Right along the Spokane River.  Wonderful scenery!
Mile 2 would have been an inconvenient picture and you know I don't want to take a picture that is inconvenient to take.  So here is mile 3!
This looks like it is part of the river but NOPE!  The river snuck over to the path along the river and covered it up.  Well, most of it is the river but the path is flooded.

 Friends!
 Bonnie and Sheila are done!
Freida was going to take my picture and I had to do things to make her notice me.  I am pretty sure there wasn't many people around me and I was easy to see but I didn't want to miss the photo pop!

Our traditional Rocket Bakery trip after the event!

Another fun event with some EAOD members.  Good friends and good fun!  I am blessed!
