NFL Films Comes to the Gleasons

I really wasn't looking forward to this visit from the NFL Film crew.  Another time we have to talk about Stephen having ALS.  Didn't want to do it but I cleaned the house and got ready.  As it turned out it was really enjoyable.  Yes, ALS did come up but it was about Stephen's whole life.  They asked Mike about his childhood, high school, college.  They asked me about first getting to know Stephen.  I shared some of my memories about Stephen over the last 16 years.  It turned out to be a wonderful time!

Of course we offered the three men that came food and beer when all was done!  Can't leave the Gleason's without food.  

So it began.  The film and sound men came about 6 PM.  This was no small project.  It took them over an hour to set up. They started unloaded their van into our house.

We brought the food out only to have to put it back in the kitchen because everything was moved around in the living room!

Steve and Dan!  Very nice guys.  It was really a pleasure to have them in our home!

Here we go!  What would be the best light, angles, etc.

AND the furniture moving.  All I could think of was I wonder what is under the couch.  Guess what! Nothing!  Thank you to Bobbie Jo who cleans our house.  She did it.  I didn't clean under the couch.

Who would have guessed we would have the NFL film crew in our house to do video for A Football Life!

Furniture is moved now the lighting.  We had to change out some light bulbs and put the old style in.  The other ones are bad for filming!

Charlie arrived and he sat where Mike would be sitting so that they could test out the spot.  I guess a white shirt is not OK so he had to put his jacket on.  This is really official.  Charlie interviewed us and he was actually on the trip to Peru so we got some more good insight on the trip.

Charlie has his jacket on now and the lighting still isn't just right.

If you have every watched A Football Life this will look familiar to you.  Same position that everyone is in when they are interviewed for this show.

Some more lighting stuff.  Now the interviews.  I didn't take pictures during the interview for obvious reasons.  Even the dogs barking outside was a concern.  They interviewed Mike and then me.

And now the furniture gets returned to the original spots.

Almost done.  After everything got back in place these guys hung out and talked with us for about an hour.  Snacks, some beverages and good conversation.  They have all be at this for a long time and have interviewed many celebrities.  What a life!  They all have families and are away from their families a lot.  Don't think our paths will cross again but I really enjoyed the adventure.  So did Mike!
