Longhorn Steer and a Cowtown Rodeo

Let's just start this post with an 8 Second bull ride! It's very exciting and will give you an idea of our adventure!

This bull did not want to be taken back to the stall!
Off to the rodeo and to watch the Longhorn walk!

Yes, the horses walk on the sidewalk!
I just happened to notice these and took a picture of the first one I saw!
 Here we are!
For $5.00 you could sit on this longhorn steer!  Ryland!
 Easton
 Yehaw!  Jackie!!!
I really didn't know what to expect.  It was very exciting seeing these magnificent animals moved from one place to the stockyards!
Here they come.  Helpers were in the streets making us stay on the sidewalks!

 Huge, huge!

 Can't forget the cowboys!
We followed them around the corner to the stockyard!

Now for a little bull riding for Ryland and Easton.

I can get up by myself.
With a little help from my mom!

This is a shopping area right across from the rodeo. Are we in Texas or what?

A maze that the boys maneuvered their way out of!
And got bouncy balls for completing the task!

Easton wanted a rope and this kind lady taught him how to use it!
Mike is not just strolling down the street.  He is checking out the people with the long coats on!  Subtle.
Easton and Ryland were both pretty quick to learn how to lasso Mark.

Time to mosey on down to dinner!
Cowtown Rodeo is ready to begin!  We were excited to see all the bull riding!
 Let the fun begin!

The cowboys getting ready to ride!
They even had junk food!  Looks delicious!

All the riders were introduced and then they said a prayer for them and for our country.  That was pretty moving! After that the national anthem!
 Our comic relief!
The cowboy that gets the bulls back in the stalls!
Not quite 8 seconds.  Scary if you ask me!

Seriously!!  Mama's don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys.  This is like torture.  It was hard to watch but fun when they stayed on the bull for a while.

How do you get in that position!
Too close for comfort all around!

Mike found another viewpoint.  It looks like he is trying to read someone cell phone.

 Look at the horse's legs!

 8 seconds complete!

 And standing on his feet!
 Feisty!

 Be careful!

 Mike's new cowboy friends!
This is just too darn close to being trampled!
The landing on this on had to hurt!

The Cowboy Hall of Fame.  Who knew?

Getting ready to ride! There were two rounds!
Need any medical help?  Here are your guys!
I think this was the other 8 second ride!

The winner of a Yeti cooler!
Flying way up in the air!
 Landing hard!

What a unique experience!  We both loved it.  Can't wait to do it again.  It is pretty amazing that these young men keep getting back up on these bulls.  One rider broke his neck previously and was back at this rodeo riding again.  That doesn't make much sense to me but I don't ride bulls.
